  I noticed this morning

that one of the ingredients in my eye drops is boric acid. Intuitively, that doesn't feel right.

Answers.com says that boric acid is used primarily as an "antiseptic and preservative," while Wikipedia reassures me that it may also function as an "insecticide" or "flame retardant."

I guess that's good.
