  A Piece Of A Poem
For the Democratic wins in Congress.

from "A Ritual to Read to Each Other" by William Stafford

...it is important that awake people be awake,
or a breaking line may discourage them back to sleep;
the signals we give--yes or no--or maybe--
should be clear: the darkness around us is deep.

Have I mentioned that you rock?

No shit.

Amen, Sister.

Yes, well, I'm not clear on how many of us were awake here in Sarasota County. Of course, I'm elated (too strong a word, but it'll have to do) that Democrats are really in again. But we're now waiting for the recount of the 13th Congressional District tally. Vern Buchanan (R) "won" by only 368 votes. Both he & Christine Jennings are in D.C. for orientation, just in case. It's Florida. 'Nuff said.

Thanks, all. I am praying for rain after this long drought and trying to stay awake.
