  The Lost Boys
At work, the MSN start page advertised an article titled "Best Places to Find a Man." Rather than read it, I thought I might suggest my own:

Best Places To Find A Man

1. Between the cushions of the couch
Things tend to slip down there. A good place to find half-used tissues, change for parking meters, and bookish types.

2. In the back of your closet
One of my favorite feelings is "discovering" something I'd totally forgotten about--a shirt, red velvet track pants, a metrosexual--it's like a free present!

3. On the floor of your car
Only for desperate moments. A sticky pen, someone scruffy and disoriented, crumpled printouts from Google Maps.

4. In your purse from last season
Hit and miss here: that Burt's Bees chapstick you loved so much, expired Tylenol Allergy pills, some pennies. A purse find is hard to read; you'll have to try him and take the risk.

5. On your kitchen table
If you are like me and can't bear to pay bills or recycle catalogs immediately, something exciting may be buried underneath your napkin holder. Dating someone that familiar with your habits, however, has its drawbacks.

6. In your mom's attic
A place for the most unexpected finds. Could be a mysterious stranger or a rat. Space for a nostalgic fling, but beware of over-romanticizing mistakes from your past.

7. At your best friend's house
Your favorite book, cardigan sweater, or best friend's brother--often these get left behind, loaned out, and forgotten. Be sure to call and ask her to look around for you.

Comments:
You forogt one. The bottom of the backpack/messenger bag you carry with you every day. I find all sorts of things in there. Occassionally even the slightly odd intellectual type.

Inside a men's washroom. Guaranteed to find some in there.
